Arrival in Sydney
Nov. 15 – And on to the last stop in Australia
We left Cairns and flew to Sydney, which is famous for it's bridge and Opera House. We had a brief bus tour on the way into town and then a walking tour of the city to familiarize ourselves with it and get an idea of what we'd like to do on Tuesday, our day to explore Sydney on our own. We learned that windows used to be taxed, so people would leave space where a window could be added later and paint the spot to look like a window. The painted window might be replaced later, either when the family became more affluent or when the tax was finally removed.
